Please click on the links below to see active negotiated collective agreements between the parties. A collective agreement is a written contract between an employer and a union that describes many of the conditions of employment of workers in a collective agreement unit. There are two collective agreements that cover members of Algonquin College`s collective agreement unit. The academic collective agreement includes professors, trainers, part-time staff, counselors and librarians. The support staff collective agreement includes all full-time support staff, Schedule D and Schedule G members. If you want a printed copy of this agreement, we advise you to download the following PDF version. Our local sister, OPSEU Local 109, manages both full-time and part-time collective agreements for college support staff. The Colleges Collective Bargaining Act of 2008 qualifies the College Employer Council (www.thecouncil.on.ca) as a bargaining partner for Ontario colleges in negotiations with the union (OPSEU), which represents university staff at colleges. The Colleges Collective Bargaining Act (Ontario) defines four bargaining units: full-time/part-time employment, part-time/session faculty, full-time support staff and part-time support staff. Examples of full-time scientific staff, administrative and support staff contracts can be found on the ”Part-Time Boarding Process” page. OPSEU has successfully certified a part-time assistant union. It was the largest union advance in Ontario`s history.
A collective agreement was also negotiated. Note that documents are only available in Adobe PDF format. Accessible versions, if available, can be provided on request.
